Postdoc (m/f/d) and PhD student (m/f/d)

You will work in the ERC funded project IMMUNOTHROMBOSIS (“Cross-talk between platelets and immunity – implications for host homeostasis and defence”; ERC Advanced Grant received recently by Prof. Dr. med. Steffen Massberg). The aim of this project is to determine thrombotic mechanisms and their consequences in inflammation and immunity. Thereby, IMMUNOTHROMBOSIS seeks to identify new options for specific prevention and treatment of thrombotic and inflammatory cardiovascular diseases.
The ideal candidates should have experience with mouse inflammation models, as well as immunological and molecular biological techniques. Experience with intravital microscopy would be advantageous. You should be highly motivated and team-oriented with a strong interest in cardiovascular diseases. Solid English skills written and spoken are mandatory. The successful candidate for the Postdoc position should hold a PhD degree and the one for the PhD student position should hold a master’s degree in life science or related disciplines, such as molecular biomedicine, immunology or cell biology.
You will work in an international group of experienced staff (Postdocs and PhD students from different fields like veterinarians, physicians and biologists, as well as technical assistants) with an excellent infrastructure and a strong focus on translational research at Campus Großhadern. The salary will be according to TV-L. The positions are initially limited to two years (due to administrative reason) with the aim of extension for up to five years. Starting date should be 1st October 2019 or earlier. In addition, we will offer workshops (scientific and soft skills) and seminars within the research field and a graduate program for the PhD student.
