For our Research team („Arbeitsgruppe“) of „Medizinische Klinik und Poliklinik A – Molekulare Hämatologie und Onkologie“: AG Dr. med. Jan-Henrik Mikesch & Dr. rer. nat. Maria Francisca Arteaga Paz, to complement our internationally staffed research team.
Our goal in translational oncology is a better understanding of the molecular pathogenesis underlying leukemia (special focus AML) and solid tumors (with special focus on non-small cell lung cancer and sarcomas) as well as mechanisms of resistance to therapies. Our main focus is the investigation of epigenetic mechanisms and the relevant signaling pathways driven by epigenetic changes in cancer cells as well as identification and evaluation of novel therapeutic targets.

The successful candidate will study key mechanisms of oncogenesis using novel and innovative technologies including targeted genome editing and in vivo mouse models.
