As German Research Center for Environmental Health, Helmholtz Zentrum München pursues the goal of developing personalized medical approaches for the prevention and therapy of major common diseases such as diabetes mellitus, allergies and lung diseases. To achieve this, it investigates the interaction of genetics, environmental factors and lifestyle.

Postdoc – Biomedical engineering/Biology/Chemistry/Physics (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities

Our research group aims to develop and use novel imaging probes and techniques in the short-wave infrared for in vivo applications (SWIR Imaging). The imaging technology is applied for revealing physiological and pathophysiological processes during the progression of obesity and diabetes as well as cancer and inflammation. We also pursue pre-clinical and clinical translation of this research. Within the project you will:

Develop novel materials for implanted medical devicesPerform pre-clinical and clinical translational researchWork in collaboration with biological and medical research groups

Your Qualifications

You hold a PhD in either materials science, bioengineering, chemistry, biology, physics, or related sciencesVery good skills in spoken and written EnglishYou are highly organized, and can work on complex problems at the interface of bioengineering and biologyYou are willing to work in an international team
