Polymer-based Nanoparticle Systems for Nucleic Acid/Protein Delivery - Postdoctoral Fellow

The Center for Nanomedicine (CNM) at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine invites applications for a postdoctoral position to work with Jung Soo Suk, Ph.D. on projects related to nanoparticle-based nucleic acid and ribonucleoprotein delivery. We are seeking a candidate with extensive experience and knowledge in organic polymer synthesis and nanoparticle formulation, including areas such as biodegradable and environment-sensitive polymers, poly(amino acid) polymers, lipid-like materials, etc. Experience and knowledge of NMR, IR and GPC is required. Prior experience with cell culture and preclinical animal models is preferred. Prior experience with preclinical animal models of brain neurological diseases (i.e. brain tumors, Parkinson’s disease) is preferred, but not required. This position requires a highly motivated candidate with a doctoral degree in Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Materials Science or similar areas, who has excellent oral and written communications skills. Applicants should have the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research group.
