The Department of Integrative Physiology and Pharmacology Department is actively searching for a qualified individual – Physiology Faculty (rank commensurate with experience).
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching select topics in physiology to first- and second-year osteopathic medical students in Liberty’s state-of-the-art Center for Medical and Health Sciences as a member of systems-based teaching teams. Faculty work collaboratively to incorporate current pedagogical methods, including didactic lectures and active learning techniques, in their teaching of the physiological systems and cellular mechanisms that are foundational to health and disease. Faculty are expected to develop and maintain a health-related research program in their area of expertise that has the potential for involving LUCOM and Liberty University students.
Applicants must have a PhD, MD, or DO degree with expertise in physiology. Minimum qualifications for rank of Assistant Professor are preferably two years of successful teaching experience, presentations at scientific meetings, and publication in current professionals’ journals. LUCOM will also consider individuals completing postdoctoral work who show potential. Good interpersonal skills are required to work in LUCOM’s team-based culture. Recruited faculty members will be expected to support a positive Christian environment while mentoring Liberty osteopathic medical students.
