The Institute Nanospectroscopy is looking for


PhD student/doctoral researcher (f/m/d) Solid State Quantum Simulator


The objectives are:



  • EPR experiments with NV centres, which are localized only a few nanometres below the diamond surface

  • Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR and EPR) on a single flake of a 2D material

  • Creation of multiple quantum coherences within the 2D system and monitoring their time evolution

  • Engineering of interaction Hamiltonians and observing quantum phase transitions

Requirements for the PhD candidate:

  • Master degree in physics or related field
  • High motivation to work in a team on a demanding research project
  • Advanced knowledge of quantum mechanics
  • Good experimental skills in optics and/or magnetic resonance (NMR or EPR)
