Reference No. EM 2019/9The Institute Functional thin film oxides for energy-efficient future information technologyis looking for PHd Student (f/m/d) "Ferroelectrics on semiconductors: synthesis of nanostructures, domain pattern at the nanoscale and photo-ferroelectric properties " TasksSynthesis of ferroelectric materials (HfO2-based, BaTiO3-based) on Si by atomic layer deposition and advanced nanostructuring methods Investigation of the ferroelectric domain patterns at the nanoscale and polarization switching dynamics Investigation of the coupling between ferroelectricity and light Integration on CMOS chips BEOL and electrical evaluation Presentation at international conferences and scientific publications of experimental results

Requirements
Completed Master Degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Materials Sciences with excellent academic recordResearch experience in thin film or nanostructure synthesisExperience in the field of oxide and/or semiconductor materialsExperience with material analysis techniques such as X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning probe microscopies (AFM, PFM…), Raman spectroscopy is desirable Good written and spoken skills in English High dedication and enthusiasm for cooperative work as well as a team-oriented and communicative work ethic Further Information Prof. Dr. Catherine Dubourdieu+49 30 8062-42868catherine.dubourdieu@helmholtz-berlin.de Closing Date: 30.06.2019 apply
