Electrochemical conversion of CO2 and biomass to valuable chemicals (synthetic fuels), especially the application of new real time analysis methods during these reactions for process optimization with regard to catalyst activity, selectivity and stability Electrochemical synthesis based on a fundamental approach coupled with in situ product analysis Contribution to the progress of method development Execution of experiments and analysis of data Writing of papers and presenting the results in conferences Representation of the institute in project meetings
Excellent university degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Material Science or a relevant discipline Strong interest in pursuing research in electrochemistry especially non-aqueous systems Good mechanical skills, interest in building up new devices / work stations Good knowledge of organic chemistry, experience in synthesis High motivation for pursuing a PhD within 3 years Excellent organizational skills Ability to show initiative and work independently Excellent cooperation and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Excellent skills in spoken and written English
