Your Job:


Our team is working on integrated circuits which combine analog and digital components from modern CMOS technologies. One research focus is the development of System-on-Chip solutions (SoCs) for efficient data processing for detectors in high-energy physics or medicine. In this context, we offer various doctoral theses in the field of conception and implementation of analog, mixed-signal and digital circuits.Your tasks include in particular:



  • Conception and creation of algorithms as well as analog or digital designs for detector applications

  • Example in analog design: Modelling and development of models of programmable components for analog data processing

  • Example in digital design: generation and optimization of an integrated processor for optimized power consumption and high data throughput

  • Collaboration in various interdisciplinary research projects

  • Self-driven development of solutions

Your Profile:

  • Scientific university degree (Master) or comparable degree in electrical engineering, physics or similar fields
  • Basic knowledge in the field of integrated circuits

Desirable depending on the focus of the work:

  • First experience with the development of analog CMOS circuits in Cadence
  • Experience with a hardware description language (VHDL, Verilog) and the corresponding verification methods
  • Basic knowledge of processor architectures and higher programming languages
  • Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary and intercultural team
  • Good analytical view of problems and ability to master complex systems
