Area of research:
You will develop a protein binding interface comparison based on interface images and recent image recognition algorithms. You will validate and apply the approach to three fundamental questions: I) function prediction; II) off-target prediction and drug repurposing to prevent side-effects in drug discovery or apply an existing therapeutic to a new disease indication, respectively; III) protein-protein interaction prediction
Excellent Master`s degree in (structural or molecular) bioinformatics, chemistry, biochemistry, or biophysics Strong background in (structural or molecular) bioinformatics, computational biochemistry/chemistry, or data science High interest in working in an interdisciplinary collaboration Profound programming knowledge in at least one scripting language and one high-level language (preferably Phython and C++) Excellent knowledge of written and oral English: TOEFL or equivalent evidence of English-speaking skills Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently Excellent cooperation and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team A high Level of scholarship as indicated, for example, by bachelor and master study transcripts
