Are you interested in epigenetics, X chromosome inactivation and how this influences the differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells? Then this PhD position might be something for you.
As a PhD-candidate you will contribute to research on how X chromosome inactivation influences the differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells. In this (VICI) project you will work closely together with other researchers and technicians. You will end your project with a doctorate thesis with the aim of obtaining your PhD degree.
You have an MSc degree in a relevant area. You have experience with molecular biological research and you are familiar with gene editing tools. You can culture human pluripotent stem cells and are interested in germ cells and sex chromosomes. Lastly, you have a good command of the English language.
You will be appointed for the duration of four years. Your salary is a maximum of € 2,422 in the first year, amounting to a maximum of € 3,103 in the final year (scale PhD students, Collective Labour Agreement University Medical Centers).

The appointment is at the Anatomy and Embryology department. In this project (VICI), we want to discover how regulation of the X chromosome influences the differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells to male or female germ cells. In our group we often work with abortion material and human ovaries.
