Open postdoc position in Roan Lab
Subject: Postdoctoral fellow position in the lab of Dr. Nadia Roan (Associate Professor, UCSF) to work on projects relating to HIV pathogenesis and cure.
An NIH-funded postdoctoral research position is available in the Roan laboratory at UCSF. The goal of the project is to characterize the mechanisms underlying HIV reservoir maintenance in vivo, and to identify biomarkers associated with HIV persistence. For the project, the successful candidate will use high-dimensional single analysis approaches including single-cell RNAseq antibody-seq to characterize HIV-infected cells and implement bioinformatics and computational approaches to analyze the resulting datasets. We are seeking an independent and highly motivated candidate with a Ph.D. in the life sciences. Preference will be given to candidates that have research experience in immunology, that are familiar with basic single-cell RNAseq analysis, and are familiar with coding in R or other programming languages. The successful candidate will have appointments at both UCSF and the J. David Gladstone Institutes.
