About the JBC Health Analysis Directorate (HAD)
The Health Analysis Directorate are a multi-disciplinary analytical Directorate of around 120 individuals working at the forefront of the response to COVID19.
Our work spans a range of analytical objectives and themes across descriptive epidemiology, genomics, cluster analysis, vaccines, behavioural science, infectious disease and biostatistical modelling, and product development/delivery.
The Directorate’s key responsibilities include providing epidemiological and public health advice for local, regional and national decision-makers; producing advice for the Chief Medical Officers (CMO) on the COVID-19 Alert Level; and leading public health assessments to inform UK border policy. We collaborate closely with Public Health England and wider NHS Test and Trace across the breadth of our work.
The JBC’s Health Analysis Directorate is a dynamic working environment. We have both quantitative and qualitative strengths, as well as assessment and support staff.
You could be working within any one of our five core teams using your skills to deliver a variety of products, reports, situational awareness and data. You will be expected to meet shared priorities by working across the JBC, building on the strengths of the other directorates, with the devolved administrations and stakeholders across Whitehall.
We have five distinct teams that work together: Domestic, International, Advanced Analytics, Transmission Analytics and Public Health Science. Depending on your skill set, preference and our needs, you could be posted to any of these teams.
Closing date: 6 October 2021.
