Applications are invited for a 3-year MRC Postdoctoral Research Scientist research position in the Cellular Identity and Metabolism group at the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS) at the Hammersmith Hospital campus of Imperial College London. The Cellular Identity and Metabolism group is headed by Dr Mathieu Latreille in the Genes & Metabolism section of the LMS (www.lms.mrc.ac.uk/research-group/cellular-identity-metabolism/). The group’s research is aimed at understanding epigenetic mechanisms regulating endocrine cell fate decisions in the pancreas. The proposed research project objective is to understanding the molecular basis underlying regeneration of insulin-producing β-cells with the aim to develop novel therapeutic strategies increasing pancreatic function in diabetes. We are looking for a highly-motivated, dedicated and creative scientist able to work independently and presenting multitasking abilities. You must hold a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline (Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or related field) and have expertise in mouse genetics and/or handling, molecular biology, cell culture and microscopy. Prior experience in pancreatic islet isolation is desirable.

Salary quoted is inclusive of London weighting. Additional allowances comprise a £1,000 lump sum Settlement Allowance plus a yearly Training Allowance of £850 in the first year, paid in monthly instalments. The Training Allowance increases to £1,300 in year two, and £1,800 in the third year.
