Lecturer in Microbial Disease
The appointment will be on UCL Grade 8. The salary range will be £44,674 – £52,701 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
This new Lecturer position is intended to enhance the research of the Institute taking advantage of our new facilities on the UCL Hampstead campus and collaborations across UCL, UCLH/UCL NIHR Biomedical Research Centre and NHS Trusts allied to UCL. Research should be focused upon host: microbial interactions upon the mouth and/and or body with the aims of generating impactful research outcomes, securement of grant income, contribution to the connected curriculum of the Institute and engagement with patients and the public.
The postholder will be responsible for securing external research funding from national and international research bodies for research allied to microbial diseases relevant to oral and / or systemic wellbeing.
They should have an active research profile at a national level. The post holder will be expected to build a world leading research group with a significant portfolio of funding and publish high quality, world class research outputs in to top ranking scientific journals.
The post holder will supervise Masters and Doctoral research dissertations.
The successful candidate must have a higher academic degree or evidence of an equivalent level attainment in research publications.
