This post represents an exciting opportunity to join a team of Bioscience staff in a School which is currently ranked first for Medicine in the NSS 2018.
You will work as a member of the team developing and delivering high quality medical bioscience learning and teaching principally to MBChB medical students. The focus is on engaging and innovative approaches to stimulating, supporting and assessing students’ acquisition of scientific knowledge and skills in the context of medical problems.
You will be expected to deliver teaching and assessment activity in addition to developing appropriate resources to support student learning. Tasks will include being a Problem Based Learning tutor, providing seminars, lectures and inter-professional learning, and the production, conduct and marking of student assessments.
You will have a Degree or equivalent in a relevant bioscience or other discipline with substantial basic medical science content, together with a PhD in a discipline related to medicine. You will have up to date and medically relevant knowledge of physiology, cell & biology and biochemistry, and of teaching in higher education. Essential skills include strong organisational skills, good team working and excellent communication skills.
