Overview
The Halic lab in the department of Structural Biology is seeking a motivated supervisor/manager to join his team. The Halic lab studies the epigenetic regulation of gene expression using genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry and structural biology. In particular you will focus on protein purification and study heterochromatin formation and chromatin-modifying proteins. Currently there are several projects ongoing in the laboratory involving the use of cryo-EM to address processes involved in chromatin organization. We also use genetics and molecular biology to address heterochromatin formation in fission yeast as a model system.
