to be filled as soon as possible, initially for a limited five-year contract. At the end of the fourth year, a tenure evaluation will be carried out by a cross-faculty and cross-departmental commis-sion. Following a positive evaluation, a permanent Chair (W2) of Tissue Organization and Dynam-ics will be granted without a renewed call for applications. Criteria for the tenure evaluation procedure will be mutually agreed upon when the position is accepted. Essential components of the tenure evaluation will be scientific success, the originality and creativity of the research, the quality and quantity of the publications, the success in obtaining third-party funding as well as a positively evaluated teaching performance.

During the temporary employment, the successful candidate must prove that she/he is able to fully represent the field of tissue organisation and dynamics in research and teaching. She/He is expected to carry out research tasks in the field of tissue morphogenesis at the EXC PoL (physics-of-life.tu-dresden.de\en) and at the MPI-CBG (mpi-cbg.de). The position offers an excellent environment within the DFG-funded Cluster of Excellence, including opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations with research groups of the MPI-CBG, PoL, CMCB, as well as the Faculties of Physics, Biology and Computer Science and the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems. Teaching in the international master programmes ""Molecular Bioengineer-ing"", ""Nanobiophysics"" or ""Regenerative Biology and Medicine"" (in German or English) as well as participation in academic self-administration and in academic committees are expected.

In this call, we are looking for a junior researcher with a university and doctoral degree and postdoctoral experience in one of the following areas: in vitro models of organogenesis, in particular organoids, tissue engineering, systems biology and biophysics of morphogenesis, cell and tissue dynamics of development and morphogenesis. Experience in the implementation and development of new methods and approaches to investigate the physical laws of collective cell behaviour is desirable. Approaches ranging from the molecular to the tissue scale are particular-ly welcome. The primary criteria for appointment will be a strong record of innovative research and academic performance, an original and promising vision for the future work program in the centre, as well as a high potential for establishing an independent research group with fruitful interdisciplinary collaborations. Teaching experience in the named areas is desirable. The prerequisites for appointment to the unlimited Chair (W2) after successful tenure evaluation are based on § 58 SächsHSFG.
