Job description:

Area of research:

We are looking for highly qualified clinician scientists (Module 1), and infection researchers with a focus on translational infection medicine (e.g. antimicrobial resistance) (Module 2).


Prerequisite:

Module 1:


Clinical junior research groups in infection research: qualified physicians with a doctorate, will be funded in the second half of their specialist training who, in addition to clinical work, wish to carry out and supervise their own infectiological research projects (clinician scientists), including infection prevention and hospital hygiene. A requirement is for the research to take place at a medical university in Germany to enable linkage of clinical care and research.


Module 2:


Non-clinical junior research groups in infection research: top scientists with a doctoral degree in infectiology, e.g. in natural sciences and computer science, who would like to establish a junior research group in an application-oriented research area, are encouraged to apply. The junior research group leader must have completed a postdoctoral phase of at least two years. Funding is also available for clinicians with a doctorate in a medical speciality to pursue a career in research without continuing to work in patient care.
