The Faculty of Life Sciences of the Technische Universität Braunschweig invites applications for a

Junior Professor in “Cell biology of plant specialized metabolites” (W1 with Tenure Track W2)

funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States (”WISNA”) to start as soon as possible.

The faculty is seeking candidates with an internationally outstanding research profile in the cell biology and biochemistry of plant natural metabolites; especially a high reputation in biosynthesis, transport and accumulation of specialized metabolites is required as well as the characterization of cell biological mechanisms of action. Focus should lay on research related to pharmacologically active substances. Collaboration within the priority research area “Infections and Therapeutics” of TU Braunschweig is expected. Responsibilities of the future professor include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level of Biology as well as of related studies.

The junior professor´s initial appointment is limited to three years. After a positive evaluation, the appointment will be extended by three more years. In accordance with the tenure track statues of TU Braunschweig, the appointment will be tenured at the level W2 after a positive final evaluation. The requirements of the position are defined in Section 30 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz).
