The Catalan Institute for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) is an international non-profit research institute, located at the campus of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. In 2018, ICN2 was awarded its second Severo Ochoa Excellence grant, a prestigious recognition of the high-level research at ICN2. The institute forms part of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST), ranked in the top 100 institutes worldwide according to the 2016 Nature Index.

ICN2 currently has an opening for a position as Junior Group Leader, to develop an independent research line on the intersection between Nanoscience and Energy. Successful candidates will receive startup funds, exclusive lab space, office space, and access to the state-of-the-art technical and scientific support facilities at ICN2. The position will be for an initial period of 5 years.
Candidates should be promising early-career scientists with an outstanding track record. They should be able to demonstrate clear potential for research independence and the ability to obtain competitive funding. We expect candidates to have an original and clearly expressed research vision on a topic related to Nano-Energy. Short-listed candidates will be called for a presentation and interview at ICN2, which will take place in the first half of 2020, followed by incorporation at ICN2.
