Urban forests are vital to provide multiple ecosystem services. They cool our urban environment, purify air, and increase aesthetic value and many more. Therefore, they are often termed as Green Lung or Grüne Lunge of a city. Urban forests are currently under threat of urbanization, climate change impacts and pollution. Increasing resilience of urban forests is considered as an adaptation strategy.
In this master thesis, you will do a global literature review to know the current state of the arts of resilience in urban forests. We will use a set of indicators to measure resilience. You will carry out a quantitative and qualitative global review of the published literature available in bibliographic repositories (e.g. ISI Web of Knowledge, Scholar Google, CAB Abstracts, etc.). This timely review will help stakeholders of urban forests to get a broad idea of challenges related to resilience and ways to increase it.
