The Georgia Cancer Center and Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University (Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine) invite applications for faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.  Individuals with a specific interest in benign hematology are requested to apply.  Board certification in Internal Medicine and Hematology is required. The desired candidate will participate in patient care, teaching, and research and is expected to work collaboratively and develop and participate in clinical trials.  Highlights of the Augusta University benign hematology program include an Adult Hemophilia Treatment Center and a well-established Sickle Cell Center with NIH funding and opportunities for clinical and translational research. Clinical research infrastructure is also available through the Georgia Cancer Center.

The Augusta University (AU) Hematology/Oncology division is well rounded, with programs and expertise in benign hematology, solid tumor oncology, hematological malignancies, BMT, and a fellowship training program.  AU is also home to the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Genetics, the Center for Genomic Medicine and Biotechnology, the Vascular Biology Center, and the Immunotherapy Center, all of which provide opportunities for collaborative work.  A competitive salary is offered commensurate with experience and includes an incentive plan that rewards clinical productivity and/or research funding success. 

Minimum Requirements

Candidates should be board-certified or board-eligible in Medicine-Hematology/Oncology. The final candidate will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree in the form of original transcript.

Preferred

Previous experience in hematology is strongly preferred.
