As German Research Center for Environmental Health, Helmholtz Zentrum München pursues the goal of developing personalized medical approaches for the prevention and therapy of major common diseases such as diabetes mellitus, allergies and lung diseases. To achieve this, it investigates the interaction of genetics, environmental factors and lifestyle.
The ICT department supports the renowned researchers of the Helmholtz Zentrum München in a vibrant international environment with all aspects of a modern, forward-looking IT and office infrastructure. In collaboration with highly dynamic and innovative research teams, we realize applications in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning. Digitalisation is thus a strategic guiding principle for the development of the center.

You care about customer focus and are an IT enthusiast with leadership experience who wants to engage in a dynamic scientific environment. Your task is to head an IT service unit, which leads the center in all aspects of digitalisation. You lead and guide the center to establish tailor-made digital applications for innovation-driven science.

Masters or Ph.D. (or comparable degree) in Computer Science, Informatics, Engineering, or Natural Sciences with a focus on ITSeveral years of experience in a leadership and management positionExperience in leading a team with extensive change responsibilitiesComprehensive experience in process analysis and process optimizationCompetence in methods and processes of IT operations (ITIL) and a very good overview of current technologies and developmentsStrong sense of responsibility and high social and communication skillsExperience in leadership, motivation and development of employeesAwareness for cost and quality Fluent spoken and written German, fluent English
