Group Leader (f/m/d) Plant Biotic Stress Biology

We are looking for a Group Leader (f/m/d) Plant Biotic Stress Biology on a permanent, full time contract at KWS Saat SE & Co. KGaA located in Einbeck.

You will work at the interface of basic research and product development and translate the latest research advances into innovative concepts for product development.

Your tasks:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary R&D group of scientists and research associates
  • Foster team-oriented mindset and cross-functional cooperation
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Maintain an open and stimulating working atmosphere, support the professional and personal development of group members
  • Manage resources and budgets

Your profile

  • PhD or other higher qualification in biology or related sciences plus at least 5 years of experience in industry and / or academia in the field of plant-pathogen interaction
  • Excellent knowledge in the biology of plant­pathogen-interaction, molecular biology, genetics, and phytopathology.
  • Personal and recent working experience with a broad spectrum of experimental methods in lab, greenhouse, and field.
  • Demonstrated examples of direct contributions to elucidate the molecular basis of plant-pathogen interaction and the improvement of plant resistance
  • Distinct leadership skills with proven orientation on goals and products
  • Usable international network of leading scientists
  • Proficient English language skills; basic German is an advantage
