The Center for Materials Interfaces in Research and Applications (¡MIRA!) seeks outstanding postdoctoral candidates (molecular biology, protein chemistry, (bio)materials, materials science) who will create genetically encoded polymers important for regenerative medicine and/or molecular electronics. This position will support an interdisciplinary project to develop methods for creation of stimuli-responsive materials. This position is available immediately. Required Skills: A strong background in one or more of the following areas, and an active interest in expanding skills in other areas, with a particular emphasis on biological skills. Biology: molecular biology, protein expression and purification, in vitro transcription and translation, or phage/yeast display. Chemistry: surface functionalization, synthesis, purification, and characterization of organic compounds/polymers or (bio)inorganic/organometallic complexes. Materials Science: development of polymer particles and their characterization or targeted delivery. Other general requirements include: demonstrated record of scientific achievement through publications and presentations, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to conduct research independently.
Education: A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Materials, or equivalent.
