The State Key Laboratory of Grassland Agroecosystems at Lanzhou University announces openings of 8 full professor positions and 16 early-career research professor (i.e., Yong Research Fellow) positions. The successful applicants of full professors will be immediately tenured. The successful applicants of early-career research professors will be on tenure track for 5 years before being considered for tenured full professor. We are seeking innovative scholars whose background may come from any field of microbiology or related disciplines such as bioinformatics, biostatistics, systems biology and ecology.
The successful applicants for Full Professor Positions should have an outstanding publication record, with the ability and will to build up a nationally and internationally competitive research team. The successful awardees of several “Excellent Young Talents” or higher-level programs in China will be appointed as full professors without additional review. We will offer generous compensation packages with a competitive salary and significant start-up fund, home purchase subsidies and settlement allowance, appropriate lab space, together with child education, medical and other benefits.
The successful applicants of Early-Career Research Professor Positions should have a track-record for excellence in research and potential to become a leader of his/her field. We will offer generous compensation packages with a yearly salary of 300,000 RMB, start-up fund of 500,000-1,500,000 RMB, yearly housing compensation of 40,000 RMB that fully covers housing rent for a ~100 square meters’ apartment on campus or nearby areas, support for lab space and research team development, together with child education, medical and other benefits.
The State Key Laboratory of Grassland Agroecosystems: The State Key Laboratory of Grassland Agroecosystems, which is the only state key laboratory in the area of grassland sciences. Its grassland science was ranked A+ by the last discipline review organized by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2016. Currently, the State Key Laboratory of Grassland Agroecosystems has two members of Chinese Academy of Engineering, who are the only academicians in grassland sciences.
In 2019, the State Key Laboratory of Grassland Agroecosystems established a Center of Grassland Microbiome to promote cutting-edge research and technology development in grassland microbiology. Professor Zhibiao Nan, who is a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, is serving as the Director.
