The Ren Ji Clinical Stem Cell Research Center (RJCSCRC) was established in 2010 and was co-founded by Ren Ji Hospital and Med-X Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. By the end of 2018, there were 14 associate/full professors. The main research areas of RJCSCRC are stem cells and tissue repair, tumor stem cells, tumor immunology and caner genetics. Since its establishment, RJCSCRC has obtained 56 national-level projects and 42 provincial-level projects. The total research funding exceeded 100 million CNY, including 2 National Key R&D Program of China, 3 key projects from National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC), 50 other NSFC projects. A number of important scientific research achievements with international influence have been produced. In the next ten years, RJCSCRC will aim to further integrate its existing academic platforms and the clinical strength from Ren Ji hospital to study stem cells in development and tissue repair, tumor stem cells and tumorigenesis, to uncover new stem cells and tumor biomarkers, to provide new approaches for molecular classification of cancer, and to develop novel cancer diagnostic and treatment targets. RJCSCRC will strive to build a base with domestic and international influence for stem cell and cancer basic research and clinical translation.
RJCSCRC invites applications for faculty positions at all levels in several technical areas which include but are not limited to:
- Stem cells
- Tissue repair
- Disease biology using technology of molecular and cellular biology, developmental biology, immunology and genetics
Applicants with outstanding track records in other related areas are also encouraged to apply. Minimum qualifications include an earned PhD degree and/or MD degree. The applicant should have outstanding academic credentials and the ability to teach effectively at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Successful candidates will be expected to establish and carry out independent research programs and to perform academic duties (e.g., supervising graduate thesis research and applying for external funding for support of the on-going projects).
