Full Professor (W3)in Organic Chemistry

We are seeking qualified applicants for teaching and research in the area of organic chemistry. The starting date is 01.04.2020. An internationally recognized scientific profile in a modern, future-directed field of organic chemistry is essential.
The existing focus areas of the institute shall be strengthened and supplemented. Contributions in large scale collaborative research projects are expected; cooperation with other departments of the faculty, other faculties of the university or institutions, contributing to profile areas of the university as well as the RWTH focus “Life Sciences” is desired. The duties of this professorship include an adequate participation in covering the teaching obligations of the Department of Chemistry. Successful grant applications are expected.
A Ph.D. degree is required; additionally, Habilitation (postdoctoral lecturing qualification), an exemplary record of research achievement as an assistant / an associate / a junior professor or university researcher and/or an outstanding career
outside academia are highly desirable. Ability in and commitment to teaching are essential. The application should include supporting documents regarding success in teaching.
German is not necessary to begin but will be expected as a teaching language within the first 5 years.
