Job description:

As German Research Center for Environmental Health, Helmholtz Zentrum München pursues the goal of developing personalized medical approaches for the prevention and therapy of major common diseases such as diabetes mellitus, allergies and lung diseases. To achieve this, it investigates the interaction of genetics, environmental factors and lifestyle.

The aim of the Institute of Asthma and Allergy Prevention (IAP) at Helmholtz Zentrum München is to investigate the underlying mechanisms of asthma and allergies in childhood. We focus on characterizing asthma phenotypes and identifying relevant protective microbial factors that prevent the development and manifestation of asthma and allergies.

In the context of the epidemiological multicenter PASTURE/EFRAIM birth cohort, we investigate determinants of the development of asthma and allergies in a rural environment. To support our international working group, we are seeking an

Epidemiologist (m/f/d)

Your tasks

You will have the opportunity to

investigate data resulting from a population-based study (PASTURE/EFRAIM) and support our team in analyzing epidemiological datause your expertise to carry out statistical analyses of complex multidimensional data setsshare and broaden your experience in conducting multicenter studies, focusing both on fieldwork and on coordinating taskspresent our research findings at national and international congresses and contribute to the preparation of publications play an active part in setting up and conducting new studies

Your qualification 

PhD degree in epidemiology Basic work experienceStrong interest in epidemiological research focusing on asthma and allergiesEnthusiasm, team spirit and strong organizational skillsProficiency in English and GermanExcellent communication skills when interacting with national and international partners involved in the projectInterest in working with a high degree of personal responsibility
