The SHP Education Coordinator will provide student laboratory and didactic training and mentoring in the Diagnostic Genetics (DG) SHP program.
Instruction of SHP Diagnostic Genetics (DG) graduate (Master of Science)
Designs and implements molecular biology experiments and molecular diagnostic tests using PCRs, WGS, WES, transcriptome, and targeted NGS requiring DNA/RNA extractions from clinical specimen, e.g., blood, FFPE slides, liquid biopsies; assists in curriculum development; teach advanced molecular biology, molecular diagnostics or statistical genetics. Develops student learning objectives and assessment rubrics; Documents and evaluates DG students' clinical lab competencies, presentations and clinical lab hours.
Administrative coordination for SHP DG students
Maintain EH&S for the DG laboratories. Lab supplies ordering and equipment maintenance. Participates in the evaluation of the program effectiveness.
Required: Bachelor's degree.
Preferred: Master's or PhD degree.
Required: Three years of relevant experience. May substitute additional experience for required education on a one to one basis.
Preferred: Three years experience with Next Gen Sequencing and Molecular biology.
