The Department of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine seeks a highly accomplished immunologist to lead the continued growth and development of its exceptional Division of Immunobiology. The
Division has been at the forefront of scientific advances with a long history of excellence that includes 5 current members of the National Academy of Sciences.
The Division Chief will have responsibility for strategic planning, recruitment, financial operations, space allocation, infrastructure and personnel that support the science and administration of the Division. The position will report directly to the Chair, and will participate in all executive decision making for the Department.
This key position requires a dynamic and experienced individual who possesses strong scientific and strategic skills. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of individual scholarship, collaborative leadership, program growth and development and educational excellence.
Qualified candidates with an MD, MD/ PhD, PhD or equivalent degree should be at or above the Associate Professor rank. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader in the field of immunology with knowledge and experience in academic institutions, health centers, and teaching hospitals. Administrative experience such as serving in the capacity of Section/ Division Chief, Center Director or similar leadership position is desirable but not required for an outstanding scientist.
