Perlmutter Cancer Center (PCC) and the Center for Human Genetics and Genomics (CHGG) invites applications for the Director of Cancer Genomics at NYU-Robert I Grossman School of Medicine. The successful applicant to lead this new joint initiative must be eligible for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level. We seek a dynamic, creative, innovative, and collaborative individual to develop and implement a strategic plan for cancer genetics and genomics, establish a world-leading, NIH-funded laboratory in cancer genetics and genomics, and provide advice on clinical implementation of cancer genetics and genomics across NYU Langone Health. The NYULH system includes six inpatient locations, three Emergency Departments, and over 235+ outpatient locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island. A total of 1,519 beds and 98 operating rooms facilitate over 67,000 inpatient hospital discharges and over 6 million outpatient vists per year. The candidate is expected to have an established, world-leading record of basic science research. Translational accomplishment in cancer genetics and/or genomic medicine is an additional plus.

PCC is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center performing cutting-edge basic, translational, clinical, and population research that aims to advance cancer prevention, treatment, outcome, and quality of life for our patients. The CHGG focuses on developing a new science of human genetics, using statistical, computational, experimental and clinical approaches, to unravel the molecular basis of Mendelian and complex disease.

The successful candidate will hold a primary appointment in a relevant NYU School of Medicine department, and participate in one or more graduate training programs. For consideration, candidates should submit a CV, a 3 page statement of their vision for the Center including outlining their own research plan, and three recommendation letters to Interfolio by the application deadline.
