Salary: Grade 7: £32,236 - £39,609 p.a. (with a discretionary range to £43,267 p.a.)
The Oxford University Big Data Institute (BDI) is a new interdisciplinary research centre aiming to develop, evaluate and deploy efficient methods for acquiring and analysing biomedical data at scale and for exploiting the opportunities arising from such studies. The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH), a key partner in the BDI, contains world-renowned population health research groups and is an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary teaching and research.
We are looking for a developer to support and maintain the data management systems related to healthcare studies. Working as part of a dedicated programming team, you will perform ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) duties upon the data, develop and maintain applications and assist researchers in using both the data and the various applications.
To be considered, you will have a good degree (or equivalent experience) in software and database development as well as experience with relational database systems and SQL programming. You will also be fluent in programming languages (C#, VB.NET or Java), have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.
The position is full-time (part-time considered) and fixed-term for 2 years.
