Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in computational and functional genomics in the laboratory of Dr. Victor Jin, Professor, in the Departments of Molecular Medicine, and Epidemiology and Biostatistics at University of Texas Health San Antonio (UTHSA). The research focus will be in the cutting-edge research area of computational genomics. The successful candidate will be expected to develop new algorithms and software tools for the identification and characterization of genomic regulatory elements, structure and splicing variants from the cancer genetic, epigenetic and gene regulatory data generated from high throughput technologies such as Hi-C, ChIP-seq, ChIP-exo, MBD-seq, 5hmC-seq, DRIP-seq, miRNA-seq and RNA-seq. The position actively involves in working cooperatively with other lab members, internal and outside collaborators. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, highly motivated, and independent with good skills in statistic, mathematics and computer science, and a strong record of accomplishment in research.
This position will not have a faculty title. All Postdoctoral appointments are designated as security sensitive positions. The University of Texas Health San Antonio is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer including protected veterans and persons with disabilities.
