We seek a Chief Commercial Technology Officer within soil microbiology with experience in bio-informatics and/or metagenomics.
Tasks and responsibilities:
You will be part of a work environment with a high professional level and will work in a company that performs exciting and global environmental work tasks.
• Lead the national and international investigation of microbial diversity and ecology in soil in order to determine microbial diversity and ecological interactions between microbes.
• Quality assurance and development/improvement of methods/procedures
• Structuring and developing databases.
• Take initiative to develop major new research projects and applications for external funding.
• Initiating and developing research collaborations with national and international partners.
The ideal candidate should have a PhD or equivalent in the field of soil microbiology and /or Environmental DNA sequencing and Bioinformatics, but we are open for corresponding types of background. We seek a person with strong qualifications and practical experience in microbial metagenomics and microbial soil ecology. The candidate shall have extensive understanding of microbial biodiversity, in particular among prokaryotes, and preferably experience and knowledge about microbiome related to plant symbiosis or animal / human gut.
The candidate must demonstrate skills with at least one computer programming language (e. g. Python, R or Perl) and general Unix skills. In addition, we seek high motivation for applied microbiology, innovation and the commercialization of services related to these.
The candidate will work with questions that are at the cutting edge of microbial ecology and applied microbiology using state-of-the-art technologies, within a motivating and cross-disciplinary science and business environment.

You have good collaboration and communication skills, both written and oral and in Norwegian and English.
