At the TU Dresden, the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry offers a position of
Chair (W2) of Special Food Chemistry
starting on 1st April 2020.
The future position holder represents the field of food chemistry in teaching and research in its entirety. The focus of research will be on a topical field of food chemistry or related food and nutrition sciences, preferably with a chemical-analytical focus. The research profile of the successful candidate should clearly complement those already present in food chemistry at TU Dresden as well as enable cooperation and strategic initiatives within the faculty and the university. The willingness to actively participate in interdisciplinary projects (e.g. Collaborative Research Centres, Research Training Groups) and to cooperate with non-university research institutions located in Dresden would be appreciated. In teaching, the field of food chemistry should be represented in its full breadth in courses in degree programs of the faculty as well as in subsidiary subject courses of the associated or English programs. The duties include participation in academic selfadministration.
Applicants are expected to have a strong academic track record and international visibility and to show achievements in attracting third-party funding. A distinctive teaching experience that is compatible with the teaching tasks at TU Dresden is expected. Proficiency of the German language is not a prerequisite for the appointment. However, we expect the successful candidate to acquire language skills sufficient to conduct teaching and administrative tasks within two years after the appointment. Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
