Trivedi School of Biosciences, Ashoka University is seeking exceptionally talented researchers to build and lead a pioneering biology program in India. Candidates of any nationality, who have demonstrated the ability to conduct independent research of high quality and have a strong publication record and excellent mentoring skills to nurture young faculty and students to excel, are encouraged to apply.
Ashoka is India’s first Liberal Arts Research University, located near Delhi, wherein the humanities and social sciences are seamlessly integrated with the natural and mathematical sciences. It is recognized as a leading University in India attracting best academicians in all disciplines of human thoughts and creativity. Recently, Ashoka has established Trivedi School of Biosciences with the help of generous donation from Trivedi Family Foundation. It aims to put India on the world map of advanced research in synthetic biology, data science and other emerging technologies in biology. The School recognises the importance of contributing significantly to both discovery science and its applications towards addressing specific societal problems. The school is advised by a group of scientists who are global leaders in their areas of research.
Selected scientists will be appointed at appropriate level of faculty positions with a very competitive remuneration package and campus housing. State-of-the-art research infrastructure, flexible and generous seed funding would be provided to enable the Chair and other faculty of the program to initiate their research in full scale soon after joining. Ashoka is open to joint appointments with the current institutes of applicants for Chair and Senior faculty positions. They may spend part of their time in Ashoka to help establish the program.
