Center for Human Genetics & Genomics
Tenure-track Faculty Positions in Computational Biology
The Center for Human Genetics & Genomics at the NYU School of Medicine invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant and Associate Professor levels in the areas of population and quantitative genetics, genomics and human disease modeling/analysis. The Center, headed by Aravinda Chakravarti, focuses on developing a new science of human genetics, using statistical, computational, experimental and clinical approaches, to unravel the molecular basis of Mendelian and complex disease. The Center occupies new space, designed to foster highly collaborative and innovative research, and operates side-by side with the Institute for Systems Genetics, the Institute for Computational Medicine and the many clinical departments within the vibrant biomedical research environment at NYU Langone Health, as well as the active human genetics community in New York City. Collaborations with the New York Genome Center and other local institutions are encouraged. We are seeking colleagues with bold and creative ideas that will enable human genetic studies in large-scale.
The successful candidates will hold primary appointments in one of the many NYU School of Medicine Departments, affiliation with the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and opportunities to participate in one or more graduate programs.
Candidates from non-traditional backgrounds such as computer science, engineering, physics, chemistry and mathematics are encouraged to apply. For consideration, candidates should upload a CV, 3 page research plan and 3 recommendation letters directly to Interfolio. Candidates are responsible for having three recommendations sent to us directly by referees by the application deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered. All application materials are due by 10/11/19.
