The Department Optics and Beamlines is looking for


BSc in computer engineering (f/m/d) ? motion control


Tasks



  • Development and operation of control and monitoring software for demanding multi-axis drive systems for optical components such as monochromators, slit systems and mirror UHV chambers

  • Conception of control algorithms in close cooperation with our scientific/technical departments and transfer of these into productive operation

  • Integration of applications and components into the control system environment EPICS

  • Support of ongoing operation and implementation of continuous improvements according to user requirements

Requirements

  • BSc/Dipl.-Ing.(FH) in the field of computer science/engineering or similar
  • Excellent knowledge in software development in unix-environments
  • Very good knowledge in multi-threaded programming of C/C++ applications as well as another programming language like Python or Matlab
  • Sound knowledge of a real-time OS and Linux-I/O-driver development as well as control system frameworks (e.g. EPICS) would be an asset
  • Ideally you would already have knowledge/experience in the field of optics, electro-engineering or mechanics
