Postdoctoral position available in Vojo Deretic’s (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vojo_Deretic) group at the NIH-funded AIM center (https://www.autophagy.center/). The AIM center is a biomedical research excellence center for autophagy, inflammation and metabolism at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA; see editorial at https://doi.org/10.1080/15548627.2019.1634444. Dr. Deretic’s group is working on autophagy in fundamental and disease contexts in mammalian and human cells and animal models. The position is to work on intersections between quality control and metabolic functions of autophagy. The studies will focus on organellar and membrane homeostasis through autophagy and related processes in a spectrum of physiological states. The studies will include proteomics, metabolomics, and secretory vs. degradative autophagy. Details of the project can be glimpsed from the published studies, for example Jia et al., Molecular Cell 2018, 70, 120-135. Please contact Dr. Deretic directly by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) to explore possibilities and further details.
