Faculty Positions in Pharmacology and Toxicology
The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology invites applications for tenure-track positions at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor levels. Candidates must hold Ph.D. and/or M.D. degrees, be willing to develop an extramurally funded research program, and be able to participate in our graduate and teaching programs. Preference will be given to applicants with interests in neuropharmacology; stroke and dementia; cell signaling; obesity/metabolic disease; clinical pharmacology; or cardiovascular/renal research. Candidates will be provided with a competitive startup package, research facilities and a state-funded salary. The department has excellent core facilities, including histology, mass spectroscopy, genomics, FACs, ultrasound imaging and confocal microscopy, as well as access to unique transgenic and KO mouse and rat colonies available for study. UMMC has excellent research programs in cardiovascular, renal, metabolic, cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. The Jackson metro area offers a moderate climate, excellent recreational facilities, low housing costs, good schools and a very moderate cost of living.
