Associate Principal Scientist – Process Chemistry

Pharmaron acquired the Hoddesdon campus, consisting of several purpose built scientific and administrative buildings together with a purpose built conference area in February 2017. The research building has more than 5,000m2 of premier R&D space and houses an established Process Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Drug Discovery team. The Hoddesdon site has state-of-the-art Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard facilities for the development of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), formulation development and process chemistry.

We are looking for an experienced Associate Principal Scientist who is seeking a challenge, have a desire to support our journey to join our Process Chemistry team.
Demonstrate expertise in the core chemistry laboratory skills and processes required, to deliver bulk active pharmaceutical ingredients.
Actively participate in the development of new technologies or methodologies, as appropriate within the functional area.
Effectively collaborate with cross-functional project groups to ensure that scientific work is appropriately documented to support the output of production reports, manuscripts and presentations.
Proactively mentor less experienced staff on core aspects of the work.
Work as part of a dedicated and driven team in a GMP compliant and safe manner.
PhD in organic chemistry
2 years post-doctoral experience in academia
A minimum of 5 years experience in a strong academic setting
A record of scientific innovation preferably with a recent publication record
Extensive experience with analytical equipment such as HPLC, NMR, LCMS, and GCMS
A deep understanding of organic chemistry and new synthetic methodologies
Must be able to demonstrate successful application of analytical skill set to resolve high complexity chemical problems
