The Department of Microbiology and Immunology and the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position in cancer immunology and immunotherapy at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This tenure-track position includes a 12-month appointment, fringe benefits, competitive start-up package, and state-of-the-art laboratory and core facilities. The primary appointment of the faculty member will be in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. Successful applicants will be expected to establish and maintain an extramurally funded research program and to participate in teaching activities in the Department and Center.

All applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., postdoctoral research experience in cancer immunology, and a strong record of research accomplishments. Applicants at the Associate Professor level must have an established and funded research program and demonstrate the ability to mentor and teach PhD graduate students. Although all areas of cancer immunology will be considered, we are particularly interested in individuals using cutting-edge approaches to study basic cancer immunology with a clear relevance to translational and/or therapeutic development.

This joint recruitment will synergistically enhance cancer immunology research through the strengths of the Department and the Center. The Department of Microbiology and Immunology consists of 33 primary and secondary faculty members with strengths in molecular mechanisms of microbial pathogenesis and immunity, and cancer immunobiology.
