The Departments of Biostatistics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and Data Sciences at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute offer exceptional environments in which to pursue research and education in quantitative public health while being at the forefront of efforts to benefit the health of populations worldwide. The departments work closely together and many faculty members have joint appointments. Areas of expertise in Biostatistics include design and analysis of clinical trials and observational studies, missing data, precision health, network analysis, computational and systems biology, microbiome analysis, neurostatistics, and environmental statistics. Areas of expertise in Data Sciences include statistical methodology, clinical trial design, health systems data analysis, computational biology, knowledge systems, and machine learning, processing next generation sequencing data, statistical packages for analyzing high-throughput data, and machine learning pipelines that integrate diverse, complex datasets. Research in both departments is enabled by access to a number of large longitudinal studies and extensive collaboration with academic departments across Harvard programs and at the world-class Harvard affiliated hospitals.

Qualifications:
• Strong background in clinical trials research for an Assistant or Associate Professor position.
• Candidates are expected to hold a doctoral degree, or a strong postdoctoral record, in statistics, biostatistics, or allied fields.
• Participate in the Department of Biostatistics education mission.
• Must be deeply committed to the development of quantitative methods relevant in cancer clinical trials research, to work collaboratively with investigators in the Susan Smith Center for Women’s Cancers, and to pursue independent research.
