The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Münster (WWU), Germany, invites applications for the position of an
Assistant professorship (W1) for chemistry and entrepreneurship with tenure track (W3)
for a duration of 3 years with the possibility of a three-year extension. Upon positive evaluation, the appointee will receive a permanent W3-level position.
The assistant professorship (W1) is jointly created by the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, the Start-up Centre of the University of Münster, which was established under the “Excellence Start-up Centre.NRW” initiative of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and the School of Business and Economics. The position covers the subjects of entrepreneurship and business administration in the natural sciences in both research and teaching, and it addresses research questions associated with the creation, development and management of firms and new ventures in the chemical industry. The assistant professorship (W1) is formally positioned at the Institute of Business Administration at the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy. In case of tenure, it is expected that the management of the institute will be taken over in the medium term.
Prerequisite for the application are scientific achievements earned during doctoral studies and a subsequent post-doctoral qualification at a university, a research institute or in industry nationally or internationally. An interdisciplinary qualification in chemistry and entrepreneurship (favoured in the topics of business chemistry or business start-ups) as well as the ability to create a network within the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, the Excellence Start-up Centre, and the School of Business and Economics are expected. Experiences in teaching, in international research projects as well in securing research income are desirable.
