Faculty positions are available in Computational Biology to join the Center for Quantitative Medicine (CQM) at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, in Farmington, CT. Applications at the Assistant Professor level are invited. The position includes a tenure-track appointment in an appropriate department in the UConn School of Medicine.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in a related field and a strong record or demonstrated promise of relevant publications and extramural funding. Research areas of particular interest include computational systems biology, computational epidemiology, and multi-scale mathematical modeling. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with experimental and clinical scientists is essential.
The CQM is a transdisciplinary research center at UConn Health which provides a formal home for the integration of quantitative and computational approaches and data to impact health and disease. The Center and its faculty pursue biomedical research in computational systems biology, bioinformatics, and data science. CQM faculty collaborate closely, and some are formal members of, the Center for Cell Analysis and Modeling (CCAM), which is a multi-disciplinary research center focused on development of new photonic, microscopic and computational approaches for the study of cellular systems. CQM and CCAM are the home of two of the most used software packages for systems biology: COPASI (http://copasi.org) and Virtual Cell (http://vcell.org); the two centers also host a graduate program in Systems Biology. CQM faculty are also engaged in collaborations with others at UConn Health and the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine, as well as with other teams nationally and internationally.
