The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Department of Lymphoma/Myeloma is recruiting for a research faculty member with sub-specialty of lymphoma and myeloma to work in Dr. Michael Wang’s lab. Researchers with strong translational clinically relevant research are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have been actively engaged in cutting-edge laboratory research in any basic area of cancer biology, with potential relevance to biology of hematologic malignancies and scholarly activity to enhance the academic environment of the department. The candidate will have protected time to lead and develop programs, laboratory research, translational clinical research and scholarly activities in keeping within the goals of the department. The selected candidate will seek appropriate funding mechanisms to support laboratory and clinical research, and will also assist with mentoring young faculty, fellows, and other trainees, and contribute to the overall mission of the department. There are multiple opportunities for collaboration with other clinicians, scientists and physician-scientists within the institution and a joint faculty appointment in The University of Texas Graduate School of Biological Sciences. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. Candidates must show evidence of commitment to scholarly activity and proof of scientific accomplishments. Candidates should possess excellent writing and communication skills as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, presentation skills for professional meetings, and the demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding for translational research.
