The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University, Alabama, is seeking to fill one nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 16, 2020. Duties include establishing an independent research program in Mathematics and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. An earned doctorate in Mathematics or related field by the appointment start date is required and applicants should have strong evidence of teaching and research ability in Mathematics. We seek applicants with research specialization in Partial Differential Equations and Applications, who will have interests that complement and enhance the department’s research strengths in the field.
The department has a PhD program and various MS programs. It has around 50 mathematicians/statisticians and more than 120 graduate students engaged in research in a wide variety of areas in Mathematics and Statistics. Auburn University’s strong research programs in various academic areas present many opportunities for interdisciplinary research and for participation in its various multidisciplinary programs.
