The School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Neurobiology to begin in August 2020. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to, molecular, cellular, and circuit mechanisms underlying nervous system function and plasticity, social behaviors, memory, reward, sensory or motor processing, and neural development. Candidates studying neural injury/regeneration or neuropsychiatric disorders are also encouraged to apply. Special consideration will be given to applicants using innovative gene-editing technologies, single cell-omics, connectomics, multi-neuron recording, optical physiology, and/or chemo/optogenetic modulation of neural activity. Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in Neuroscience or a related field by time of appointment. Applicants should have at least two years of relevant postdoctoral research experience, a publication record appropriate for the rank, and a well-developed research plan. We expect the applicant to develop a nationally recognized and externally funded research program, teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and foster an inclusive work environment.

Minimum qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Neurobiology, Neuroscience, or a related field or an MD in a related field by time of appointment.

• At least 2-years postdoctoral or equivalent experience

• Evidence of publications in peer-reviewed journals

• Evidence of excellence in research and teaching as appropriate for the rank
